Cannot Create Game because you are already in game

Earlier today, I created a custom blind game in order to 1v1 with a friend. Everything went well ( selecting champion, selecting rune page, changing runes etc.) up until the timer for game start hit zero. Once the timer hit zero we were both stuck in champion select and our game never launched. We were there for about three minutes until we decided to both close our clients.

Once our clients were closed, we relaunched our game and were brought to the homepage just like normal. We didn't have the blue reconnect to game message indicating that we were in game neither was the match in our match history. We both thought the match never started. So we decided to create a new custom lobby. The Bug I decided to create the lobby at first. When I pressed confirm for the custom game a message appeared saying "You cannot create a game because you are already in a game." despite us not being in a game. The message also appears for my friend who was in the lobby.

Hours later, we both still get the message and can neither play normal and custom games.

Any info which can enlighten our current situation or even fix it would be very helpful/appreciated. ;)
