[GAMEPLAY] Silver and Unranked Players unable to duo queue together

Unranked players are supposed to be able to play ranked with Bronze, Silver, and Gold. However the client is recognizing unranked players as their S5 Rank. E.g. if a player was ranked as Platinum+ LAST season and they are ranked "Unranked" THIS season, Bronze and Silver players will be unable to invite or be invited by them for ranked games. Even having a gold player make the game and then invite both the unranked player and yourself will not work.

Have your current season 6 rank be 2 or more divisions below an unranked friend's season 5 rank.
Attempt to invite them to a ranked game.
Get the "ineligible duo partner" message. Reproduction rate: 100%

That's how it's supposed to be, players are limited to inviting someone within 1 rank of them. If they were platinum last season, they are considered platinum, sorry your friend can't carry you.

I placed Silver this season. I was plat last season thanks. My friend wanted to duo with me for his placements, I'm not trying to get carried.

This is a quote from Riot support who also recommended I make this bug post: "This means, for example, if you're in Gold, you can only play with those who are in Silver, Gold, or Platinum. Unranked players may play with Bronze, Silver, and Gold players."

So a player who is Unranked this season should be able to duo queue with Bronze, Silver, and Gold players. Why would their rank last season change the fact that they're unranked this season? My rank last season doesn't change my current rank this season.
