Pool Party Points

On the main page of League of Legends, it says that players are able to earn champion points from "Summoner’s Rift, Howling Abyss or Crystal Scar in a five-player premade party". I recently played a game with 4 other players in a premade party in the Howling Abyss. Even though we won, I noticed that I did not get any champion points for it. I also noticed that it when you press play after you log into the game, it says that you can only get points from playing Summoner's Rift. Is this a bug or can you only get points in a premade party in Summoner's Rift?
