Skill shots going wrong way

Ever since patch 6.9 I have had problems with skill shots and ward placement. I would aim the skill shot and click to initiate it then right click to continue moving after I placed the preferred direction of the skill shot. However instead of going to where I wanted it to go it went to where I was trying to move to. It feels similar to when you try to play with lag it just doesn't work right. It has made me lose team fights, games, and made more easily to gank due to less time to react because a ward isn't in the proper spot. It could be because I'm bad, problems with my mouse, or it could be a bug I don't know.(I normally have about 40 to 50 ping and 60 fps). Please help I would like to know what the problem is. It has also happened to some of my friends as well. I'm not posting this from my normal computer and it shows some hyperlinks and I don't know why.
