Bugs on bugs on bugs
Where do I even begin? Some friends and I have played this game for years, and while like all games, it has its ups and downs with game play issues and client issues from time to time, this is by FAR THE WORST IT HAS EVER BEEN. I don't currently seem to be having any issues with any of the other games I play, and neither do my room mates. All of us have custom-built PC's that are able to run this game 10x over. So, naturally, we have narrowed it down to client issues and here's what's been happening for the last 4 weeks:
-
Loading into game and getting an error message that reads: "cannot connect to server, please ensure you are connected to the internet." 6 of us have experienced this message a handful of times in the past month and each time, have verified our internet is working just fine. Sometimes, signing out and then re-logging suffices and the game loads up normally, no problem. Other times, it's gone as far as having to completely reinstall League and because of both of these instances, often times, LeaveBuster issues a penalty for something we had 0 control of. The third and worst of all of the instances that occurred happened last week, where even after I reinstalled League for the 6th time in a month, the game crashed for the rest of the day despite also rebooting my PC 3 times. In other words, League was completely inaccessible for me all day. No big deal. Not the end of the world, but still. Really?

Random lag spikes where our normal ping is a consistent 38-42 and jumps to 90-120 for 5-10 seconds. At first, I thought maybe it was a Comcast issue, because let's face it, Comcast blows. But then, I launch some of my other games which consist of Overwatch, Apex Legends, Monster Hunter World etc. and do not experience the same occurrence. Furthermore, about a week or two ago, the notification system on League of Legends had a red exclamation point where it read "we are aware some people are experiencing connectivity issues and are looking into it." Don't know what that was about, but ok.

This happened late in the week last week. My entire client reset and deleted all of my presets as well as all of my rune pages. Every time that I log in, it registers me as a "new player" despite turning off the join the voice channel automatically, the helpful hints about the client itself, and the language filter settings multiple times. My hotkeys keep being reset every log as well as my sound settings too. The one rune page I got around to remaking has stayed saved, but there seems to be a lot of problems with the client's ability to "remember" right now. Pretty annoying

The FINAL bug I have personally experienced (with my room mates experiencing all four of these points among other problems that I have not) happened a total of 3 times, most recently today. May 13th 2019. I had to reload into game because the health bars in game were not changing accordingly. This applied to the minions, to the monsters, the turrets, my allies, and even the enemy champions. They all registered 100% health on my monitor, despite being slain. There was legitimately 0 way for me to be able to tell how close something was to dying prior to the relog. Upon disconnecting to do the relog, the error message that tells me I have no internet came up and it took me 6 minutes to load back in. Because of this, I yet again, got a Leaver penalty for something completely out of my control.
Wildcard: I changed the name to this account about 3 weeks ago, and it still registers as A Rakan Artist. It is now Lvl 99 Eevee.
All in all, I'd like to see a little more focus on the client, rather than new champions and items from Riot's team, because for the past couple of years, this game has been on a slippery slope in its downward spiral. If these problems are not addressed soon in the next patch or so, I will likely discontinue my playing of League of Legends after 9 seasons. Sorry guys, but to the common player, it no longer feels like you care about your product.
