My keys don't work at all

Just a moment ago - game is still going as I type this- as soon as my game loads, I was introduced to a big problem. My keys don't work what so ever. I can't open the shop with 'p' or use abilities or spells. Nothing works. I really don't know what caused this. I tried leaving the game and reconnecting, but that didn't fix the problem. I mention my team about the problem and a teammate stated that he had the same problem last night. What is this, why is it happening, and how do I fix it? Please, the match was ranked, and I really don't like the idea of losing another match because of this bug or whatever it is.

I have this exact same problem a lot and it seems to be happening more frequently lately... as in every 2-3 times I log into LoL it happens. It's weird because its only my keys that get borked. I can't use them to shop, cast abilities, or cast summoners. Oddly though, I can type in chat. Weird...

The only solution that I have found is to completely exit LoL and restart. Exiting just the game will not fix it (as stated above). This is a serious issue because it happens so frequently and the leaverbuster gets after me every time. I would LOVE a fix, or at the very least a better workaround!
