Unable to login: "We're unable to log you in because you may be offline."

When I open league, after it loads, this is displayed:

"We have restored this installation to an older version of League of Legends. Now we'll try to patch it up to the latest version"

that is followed by the login window where this is displayed, no time elapses between the two.

"We're unable to log you in because you may be offline."

I have done a clean uninstall and reinstalled the game, i don't know what to do. please. help.

Thought I checked that there wasn't already a post about this but I guess I didn't look hard enough haha. Having the same issue, made a separate post about it though rip.

The issue went away yesterday, but is back today for some reason. All the articles, videos, suggestions etc are from least three months or a few years ago. none have been helpful.

Uncheck read-only Rito Games directory and restart client (Start Client as Administator)

Ran repair twice seems to have worked the second time around.
