[GAMEPLAY] Ashe - Ranger's Focus (Q) and Hurricane Bugs

Testing out Ashe in a custom game, I encountered three possible bugs with the adjustments to her Q and Runaan's Hurricane.

First, Ranger's Focus applies additional damage to structures again. The five-arrow animation plays when attacking towers or inhibitors, and Ashe's total damage per attack is increased. This feature was deliberately removed shortly after her rework because she was pushing towers too fast, but it's back now.

Repro Steps

  1. Ensure you do not have the Fervor of Battle keystone to avoid conflating damage increases.
  2. Attack a turret and note the amount of damage you deal
  3. Build five stacks of Ranger's Focus by attacking minions
  4. Press Q and attack the turret again - the damage dealt is increased. Repeated attacks display the total damage dealt by all of the attacks until Ranger's Focus times out.

Second, the extra bolts from Runaan's Hurricane no longer grant stacks of Ranger's Focus. Previously stacks were granted on-hit, so the additional bolts allowed Ashe to stack Q very quickly. Now the stacks are applied on-attack, so Runaan's Hurricane does not allow her to stack up faster.

Repro Steps

  1. Purchase Runaan's Hurricane
  2. Attack a minion wave or jungle camp so that both additional bolts fire
  3. Note that you only gain one stack of Focus per attack instead of three

Third, using Ranger's Focus with a Runaan's Hurricane appears to decrease the damage dealt by the secondary bolts. I haven't checked minion health totals to confirm this, but the displayed total damage of the volley decreases after pressing Q. This might just be a rounding error in the display code due to the very low damage dealt by each individual arrow in the volley.

Repro Steps

  1. Purchase Runaan's Hurricane
  2. Attack a jungle camp and note the damage dealt by the secondary bolts
  3. Build five stacks of Focus and press Q (may need to let camp reset first so the creeps don't die)
  4. Note that the displayed total damage for each volley (larger, pale numbers) is less than the damage of a single bolt without Ranger's Focus

If any of these are intended changes, could they be added to the patch notes? The first bug significantly increases the speed at which Ashe takes turrets, and the other two greatly affect whether or not she should purchase Runaan's Hurricane at all.

  1. Probably working as intended, I don't see why not since other ADCs have ways of dealing damage to turrets (ex. Tristana, Graves).
  2. Ranger's Focus probably now gains stacks as an on-attack effect. Not seeing this documented is pretty bad in any case. They also removed the barrage of bolts that would occur if you had Q up, which was probably deserved.
  3. Bug. Secondary bolts are likely dealing 6.75% AD (27% AD from Q * 25% AD from Runaan's), instead of Ashe's full AD against Runaan's, or even Ashe's amplified AD from Q against Runaan's. Here's a screenshot from when I reproduced it myself: http://imgur.com/7fX4w6O Even more strange, my autos normally deal 194 damage to ranged creeps (disregard the large number in the screenshot), but it only dealt 10 from a Q-buffed Runaan's bolt. You can confirm the damage in the unit status box in the top left (adding 16 damage from Runaan's onhit effect). It should have dealt 13 damage? So even if this ratio is intended, its still dealing less damage than expected.

I was also very shocked to find that I could use Ranger's Focus on turrets again, especially since there was NO mention of that change ANYWHERE, and how quickly it got removed after her major rework all those months back. I was kind of hoping that it would go UNNOTICED haha. But maybe they decided to balance her out by giving it back.
