Removed from Champ Select for Not Selecting a Champion when it WASN'T my Turn?

So I was in champion select during Ranked Draft Mode, and I was last pick. It was time for the 2 ahead of me to pick their champions, which they did. However, after the time ran out (one person didn't lock in), it reset the time for them and it was basically 60 seconds of nothing happening as their champions were picked. I waited, and then after, it moved on to the other team's last 2. They chose their guys, and then right after their time ran out, I was instantly kicked out for not selecting my champion. Long story short, there must have been a glitch in the champion select, which caused me to lose 10 points (I left select 1 hour before so I could duo with a friend which caused me to lose 3 points and wait 5 minutes), and I am now waiting 30 minutes. I wouldn't be super upset, but because I lost 10 points, I am now at 0 points, and face potential demotion after I dedicated a whole day to promoting myself. I hope I was not the only one to experience this problem, and would love if someone at Riot could stop this from happening in the future, thanks.
