Movement path error causes Volibear to walk repeatedly into opponent fountain

This is the weirdest error I have ever had with League.

Not sure how much of this is relevant, but I was playing as Volibear Volibear (Runeguard Skin) in a ranked game on SR, and my internet connection was fairly strong (70-80 ping). I play on a somewhat old, inexpensive laptop, and I always keep the graphics settings at the lowest in every category so that I don't freeze up. Also, I usually have camera lock (Y) on, just because that is how I prefer to play.

So I load in, purchase item 1054 and item 2003 , level Majestic Roar, and right click down top lane, but the path on the minimap showed my movement path directly through mid lane to the enemy fountain. I click around frantically, both on my screen and on the minimap, but I keep moving down mid lane toward the enemy turrets. I try using teleport to the top lane outer turret; it works, but as soon as the channel ends I proceed to move down top lane toward the enemy fountain. At this point, my team mates are spamming chat with "quit!" "restart!" so I exit my game just as I walk through one of the turrets top lane. I load in later with one death and no weird movement problems.

While I have had internet problems in the past, I don't think this was due to connection, because my load in and in game ping was around 70 to 80, and I had my household bandwidth to myself - plus I am pretty familiar with what errors occur due to sinc errors, and it was weird that I could use teleport yet not path my champion's movement correctly.
