Unable to pick any champ after someone choose my initial pick

So I just tried to pick Ashe at the same time as someone else, and they ended up getting her. No prob. But then when I tried to select any and all of the other 8 champs available to me it gave a popup saying there is a problem selecting your champion and then I timed out and got the queue dodge timer. :(
