Liandry's Torment is currently broken

The following is a bug report I just sent in because we just figured it out. If you build Liandry's Torment, you're losing damage because the item is bugged. Try replicating it for yourself in the practice tool.

While in game many times we noticed that we would do no damage so my friend and I jumped into the practice tool and were able to replicate it. (Most easily replicated on amumu) 1, build liandrys torment 2, put out a training dummy 3, turn on w and burn the dummy (note 3 types damage tickers: 2 magic (blue) and 1 % of health (white)) 4, walk away and let the dummy heal with w still going 5, walk back up to the dummy and let the w hit it again (% of health (white) damage is gone, dps is changed too)

this can be remedied if you auto attack the target (It allows the % of health damage to burn again) This is amazingly detrimental to ranged mages considering most close range champions don't build liandrys.

Expected result, Liandrys burns for a percentage of their health Actual result, Liandrys shows the animation but does no extra damage

Hmm, but isn't liandry magic damage? That means it's numbers color should be blue, as white is true damage?

This is not a bug but you misunderstanding how amumu works. I tested it in practice tool and it worked like it should. The 2 blue ones are amumu's w and liandry. The white damage is true damage from his passive and it only comes if you basic attack the enemy or ult them at any time. The passive is refreshed on the target if you deal any magic damage to them while the passive debuff is active. So the reason the white damage stops is because you let the passive wear out and didn't use basic attacks to reapply it.

I didn't test it on fiddle sticks or anything but i'm assuming you think they are bugged because there is no white damage but white damage is only for true damage and champions like fiddle don't have true damage.

Do not make bug reports before you have actually even read what the abilities do.

This is not a bug.

White damage is true damage, and only comes from amumu's passive, when you auto attack someone. The Liandry's effect is magic damage, and as you said yourself there were 2 instances of magic damage, 1 being your w and the other being liandry's. There is no bug, please read the item description next time.

The white number is true damage from Amumu's passive. From your description it looks like it disappeared because you didn't autoattack.

A lot of people are saying the white dmg tick is from amumu, but like I said, I tested this on a lot of champs.

Here's a few stills I took. I don't have video or anything, but you can see the white damage (supposedly from amumu). If it were amumu's true dmg, why does fid, kaisa, and ziggs do true dmg?

I just went in and tested it with amumu and found nothing wrong.

I'm wondering when this bug started...Considering the item is in a couple of my builds.

CarneDElev12/17/2019, 3:47:37 PM2 votes

It's not

Prozzak12/17/2019, 1:31:52 PM2 votes

Seems to be something to do with one skill being pressed and lasting (I would guess) longer than 3 seconds based on what you said. It bugs out when no new inputs have happened so it isn't getting triggered again to start the burn. Seems like this would impact a very small subset of champs but maybe I am reading this wrong?

MorgManBasher12/21/2019, 8:23:52 AM1 votes

So is this bugged currently or no? People seem to say it's not actually bugged and I'd like to know as someone that plays mostly zyra

Are you using the Cheap Shot rune?

Hmmm well this is unfortunate... hope they fix it lol [zombie-brand-facepalm]

Good nerf to mages

This is not broken as I have tested it out myself and there is NO BUG and NO PROBLEM WITH LIANDRY'S TORMENT. The confusion comes either from the Amumu passive, or a possible use of the "Cheapshot" under the domination tree (first row rune). This would cause true damage to impaired units (i.e. unites who are disabled/slowed in some way). OP mentioned a few champs and some of them fit this bill (Shaco w,e; Liss q,w,e,r) but some don't (Nasus e; Kai'sa w). The screenshot of Ziggs shows true damage values of "16" and "28" which would be consistent with the 15-45 true damage range of "Cheap Shot"; this makes sense as Ziggs' e slows and would thus be able to proc "Cheap Shot". However, "Cheap Shot" has a 4 second cooldown which would mean some other form of true damage is responsible in addition to, or instead of "Cheap Shot".

In conclusion, Liandry's is working AS INTENDED. The form of true damage must be coming from another source and with my guess being rune related. Liandry's should not AND DOES NOT do true damage (white number text).
