TF ult doesn't give u an assist for the vision?

when i used my twisted fate ultimate i didn't get an assist for a kill. Is that a bug or is that just how it is? I think It should give you an assist due to giving a vision of the opponent also pressuring the person too. EX: Kalista gets an assist or kill contribution when an enemy is spotted by her w.
