Unknown Error: Substitute is Ineligible for Clash

What's the deal and how can we fix this before the start? Our sub is eligible for Clash, but this error pops up.

Same error here. Tried to sub into another person's team. Can't. Kinda unfortunate because if I knew the sub feature wasn't working I would of tried to create a team....
