Gangplank barrel linking inconsistent over certain terrain

Rió·9/10/2015, 7:55:46 PM·55 votes·3,435 views

When linking barrels over terrain, successful links seems to be pretty hit-or-miss depending on the location. Some walls always work, some walls sometimes work, and some walls never work. Some walls even work in certain directions but not in others (see example photos). These are not all of the bugged areas (inside red buff over to the back brush doesn't work either), but they some of the most important ones that have significantly affected my games on a regular basis.

EXAMPLES: (1st and last are same wall, but show's with a bit more clarity, this wall is one of the most important)

I think the problem might have something to with different terrain levels, so even though it looks like those circles are touching, one is actually higher than the other, and thus it only appears they are touching. All of the circles of the failed link barrels are barely touching, so I'm assuming this issue doesn't occur if they are close together.

**BUT **since it appears that they are touching then they should by all means link together, or at the very least be fixed it so it doesn't look like they are touching.

I remember I similar bug with Anivia q targeting animation a while back that resulted in some screwed up targeting over differing terrain levels.

are you telling me that a wall stops a trail of gunpowder from igniting? a large, immovable object that you cant see over or pass through is stopping a small trail of ignitable poweder from casuing an explosion on the other side? as if in a meaningful balanced way? personally i dont think barrles shoudl link over ANY walls, or terraign blockage, its ahrdly fair that GP can chase down an escaping champ then toss up a barrle blindly and get a random kill just becasue.

The way the camera is angled when you play makes the differences between terrain very deceiving. From a top-down perspective I believe the barrels wouldn't be linked, but I'm not sure. I've noticed the difference with skillshots and other placeable things. Really annoying but is ultimately a visual bug.

I'm going to bump this to hopefully bring some more attention to it. Pretty massive game-play impact.
