Why did i get penalty for dodging?

So i was playing draft pick with my friend, and once i got into the champ selection, i panicked. (I picked mid fill and got jungle for some reason, but what ever, i can jungle too) So when i took jungle and the moment i was going to lock in as , i got to the queue and there was something like I exited from the champion selection. I was so confused on what happened then I went to play again, it said that i dodged 2 or more games and then got a 6 mins(i guess) penalty. Like how? I never exited, I was so excited to play a draft game, because it must be so fun to play in that mode. But still, i dont get it, why did i get penalty??? Please answer.
