Both in lobby but one in champion select

while we both were in a lobby, the game only searched a game for my friend and not for me, so I was in a lobby with my friend but he was also in champion select while I was still in the lobby, he entered a game which I didn`t even though I was in a lobby with him.

PS: happens only sometimes but is still really annoying.
