dragon kill sound goes off global. enemy team took drag in the fog of war but we heard the dragon kill noise even when they took it in the fog of war. is the global kill sound a bug? i don't remember it being a global sound even if taken in fog of war.

I've also noticed that I can hear someone recalling even if I have no eyes on them so long as I have my screen near where they're doing it.

Does affect the game because you can get a fairly accurate timer just off the global noise. A lot more noticeable than trying to tab when you think they're taking it or watching the buff. Maybe only a few seconds difference.

It doesn't matter, because you will see it as both a visual buff and an icon n their buff bar almost immediately anyway.

I've noticed this a few times. I'm not sure it is an intentional feature. If one team doesn't have wards on dragon, and they hear it get taken in the fog of war. Why should that team have an exact dragon timer? They could then plan to take dragon or fight at dragon exactly when it comes back up if they so choose.

To address junglerboy16's comment: "It doesn't matter, because you will see it as both a visual buff and an icon n their buff bar almost immediately anyway."

True, normally an enemy will appear in lane and the counter will update. However, in this situation the same principle applies to taking Baron. We don't globally hear when the other team takes Baron. And we are only privy to the status of Baron when we see their buff or ward the pit. Unless I missed some announcement from Riot along the lines of: "We want the other team to know you got dragon so in the event that they are really bad and don't ward at all, then they at least have a chance to catch up when the dragon comes back up", then I cannot believe the global confirmation that dragon has been taken is on purpose. Especially since the counter doesn't update until you see someone from the other team.

Yea I've noticed this too. Don't think it makes much a difference though, you can see when the enemy have taken drag without having vision on it by hitting tab. The dragon counter (not the timer mind you, but the counter that appears next to the scores) gets a tick when the enemy takes it even if you can't see them.

it kind of gives off the location of part of the team even without wards. think they should remove this

I think this was an intended change that wasn't listed imo.

Kalista, Sion, now Drag, what's with all the global sounds anymore? I don't care about Kalista killing her teammate if I'm not nearby, and if i am nearby, it's a giveaway which isnt fair to the other team. If Sion ults from his base, and I've got 3 people in bot lane, it's not fair to him that I know he's coming in from spawn without deep wards - I'm just gonna shift off his tower and watch him whiff. Now drag - why do i get a spawn timer without wards/vision of any type?

This is not fair riot, cmon. TF ult with global sound, fine. Karth ult with global sound, cool. Long range running sort-of-skill-shot with global sound? What, do Ashe arrows get a global sound next? Cmon.

I don't think it's intentional, but I do think they should leave it in. On top of that, have it trigger the timer. We already get the time, so there's no point in having to type it when that was the whole point of the dragon timer being added.

Besides, unless you have the timer (even if you've typed it) the potatoes on your team usually aren't too mindful of dragon spawning unless its on their scoreboard. You type "drag 40" and they think "well I can't prove he knows that so I'm going to pretend he's wrong because I want to farm top".
