crystalline flask & pots

When I play pantheon top I like to start crystalline Flash and 3 potions (2 health & 1 manna). It is great sustain early and helps you push/bully out your lane. However, I have played 1 ranked and 1 normal game where I find that once I purchase 1 Crystalline Flask, 2 health potions, and 1 manna potion (in that order) I can not burn my heath or manna potions for the first ~5 minutes of the game. It is very sad when you could easily win a lane only to realize the gold you spend on items are worthless for the first 5 minutes of the game. Please help!!!
