Amumu's Ult

I just played a ranked game with Amumu and did very poorly. At first my ult would work but I noticed around 18-20 minutes that it was not working at all. I do not know what the issue was but i was not silenced, knocked up, or anything. (champions were garen vi sivir thresh and xerath on opposing team)
