[Launcher] Patcher immediately closes after showing the League of Legends loading logo

I've noticed that some other people have been having this issue with various fixes working for some and not working for others. Upon launching my game (which I always run as admin), the logo that indicates that the patcher is loading shows up and immediately closes. I checked task manager afterwards and there weren't any processes from League of Legends or Riot Games running. I'm re-installing the game currently, but I'm not sure if it will help or if Riot will need to do a patch. Some other people who had this issue fixed it upon re-installing, others did not.

Commenting so I can easily check back on this tomorrow. I'm having this issue as well, and saving the full re-install as a last resort.

hey sadly i can not launch, my client as well. it doesn't go and farther than to tell its running when it clearly is not. i tried to trouble shoot but the only thing i can see that's wrong is that most on the components look like they are missing. at this point. i cant get my daily. and i also can't fix this issue on my own or with a regular download. i need to be able to remove all of the old data. and get a whole new download altogether. i have too many champions to be going thur these long trials of loading bars lol. im bored RekSai

Found a solution, at least for me. Are you trying to run this off a shortcut you pinned to the taskbar, by chance? I was, and that was was not working for me at all. I tried the regular shortcut on the desktop (run as administrator, just in case), and it worked. If it happens like this for you as well, you can do the following to get the pinned shortcut to work again:

Right click the pinned shortcut > right click 'LoL Patcher' in that menu > Go into Properties Right click the working desktop shortcut > Go into Properties

Copy the Target and Start In paths from the working desktop shortcut to the pinned shortcut (you'll notice the pinned shortcut has different paths). Then, just to be safe, in the Compatibility tab, check 'run this program as an administrator'.

Working perfectly for me now.

This is also happening to me. What operating system are you using?
