black screens in-game after new client update

Well, I just recently got the new client going on my computer and it looked really nice. I started to play a game and it was all going well until the screen turned black for a couple of seconds with my cursor still the same (the hand with the glove idk) and then it came back. I don't know why it does this but, does league require a better graphics card after the update? I've never had problems like this with the old client.
