Jayce spell cancelling Kayle ult permanently

I was in a game as Kayle recently, and upon casting ult I was knocked back by Jayce in hammer form (Thundering blow). After this instance, I was unable to make anyone invulnerable with my ult. It would go on CD after casting, but no effect would take place.

This happened on an ARAM, if that has any importance.
