Jayce W Interaction [Gameplay]

I'm not sure if many people know this, but activating W in ranged form and then switching to melee form keeps the max attack speed buff for 3 attacks, but when I do it this patch the 3 empowered autos aren't going off. It hits but theres no damage. Was this intentional?
