's E (Barrels) is supposed to correspond with the plunder effect of his Q (Parley), and give the gold and silver serpents accordingly. After multiple attempts it seems that no matter how many minions I kill with a barrel explosion I never receive that gold or silver serpent. How much are you receiving? I played GP earlier and didn't notice anything off about it.
It will only give you the Q Plunder effect if the barrel which killed those minions was triggered with a Q. It's not like Soraka's W and Q interaction where merely having her W grants the effect on her Q. Gangplank's Q and E require Q to trigger the E's last hit explosion.
Simply killing minions with the E wont give plunder gold. You have to Q the Keg.
