Client suddenly closing

So today i just got done playing a rank game (and we won) i clicked on the home button because i wanted to go into the hextech crafting. The very moment i click on the hextech tab, my client suddenly closes. But the strange thing about it is that i can still see it running if i go into my task manager via processes. Still shows that launcher client & update is all still running but there is no actual client up anymore. The only way ive been able to fix this is to end the lol processes & reopen the client. And this has only started happening recently, about last night or so. Thoughts? cuz i feel like right now that i have to close the client this way.
