Champ select not popping up

I was alt tabbed watching youtube while in que then i realize its been a while since a ques poped so ic heck and i realize my ques not even going only to ee i have a 4 minute wait cuz I didnt ban a champ. The que never popped for me and brought me into the game without me accepting to play and didnt pop up when bans showed. First off why was I in the champ select when I didnt click play? Second I didnt even know iI was in champ select so Now I have to get faced with the penalty when the game enters games on its ownn.
