I bought a skin but I got taxed more RP than the price shown

I recently received a $50 gift card from a friend. I logged in and put in the code and had 7215 RP. I then bought 2 skins that totaled up to 2195 RP, but for some reason the game took 4015 RP instead. I would really appreciate some help on this please.
