cant use silver serpants to buy the upgrade for his ult can you explain how to do it please

You need 500 Silver Serpents, from killing minions with your Q. Go to the shop, click the tab that says " ALL ITEMS", the first 3 items should be your Cannon Barrage upgrades. ( P.S GET THE FIRE AT WILL ONE )

i have had 500 of them and i cant buy i dont know if you have to do it before you keep upgradeing it with you skill points or what i have played him 2 matches now and i couldnt buy the upgrade
