[Akali] - Errata list (01.06.2015)
As of patch 5.10, Akali is suffering from the following issues:
I) [Bug] Akali's Twin Disciplines are incorrectly calculated
Expected behavior: The tooltip stating the correct amount of bonus magic damage on AA and Spellvamp.
Current, incorrect behavior: The tooltip is not taking the AD portion of Dragon's Might (6% at level I and 12% at level V) into account when calculating these values.
Reproduction:
- Pick Akali
- Gain enough AP and bonus AD to differentiate between rounding errors and actual incorrect values.
- Slay Dragon once or five times.
- Notice the tooltip displaying an incorrect value.
Explanation:
Twin Disciplines:
- Akali gains 6% (+ 1% per 6 AP) bonus magic damage.
- Akali gains 6% (+ 1% per 6 bonus AD) Spellvamp.

Discipline of Force:
- 958 AP / 6 = 159.66
- 159.66% + 6% = 165.66% (close enough to the 165.68 from the image since AP is rounded)
- 167 AD * 165.68% = 276.6856 bonus magic damage (again, close enough to the 276.32 from the image)
Discipline of Might:
- 54 bonus AD / 6 = 9
- 9% + 6% = 15% (matches the value from the image)
Akali with dragon buff I: http://puu.sh/i7TSL/e49edf3f43.png
Discipline of Force:
- 1002 AP / 6 = 167
- 167% + 6% = 173% (close enough to 173.05%)
- 177 AD * 173.05% = 306.2985 bonus magic damage
- There is a discrepancy of 17.6885 between 306.2985 and 288.61. This can no longer be explained by rounding.
- 288.61 * 1.06 = 305.9266 (close enough)
Hence, Discipline of Force is not taking the 6% dragon bonus to AD into account!
Discipline of Might:
- 54 bonus AD * 1.06 / 6 = 9.54
- 9.54% + 6% = 15.54% (vs. 15% in the image; percentage points are usually displayed with more significant digits)
Hence, Discipline of Might also seems to not take the 6% AD bonus into account. We will see in further calculations that this is indeed the case.
Akali with dragon buff V: http://puu.sh/i7TV6/b3ee0c1c7f.png
Discipline of Force:
- 1046 AP / 6 = 174.33
- 174.33% + 6% = 180.33% (close enough to 180.42%)
- 187 AD * 180.42% = 337.3854 bonus magic damage
- Delta: 337.3854 - 300.9 = 36.4854
- 300.9 * 1.12 = 337.008
Hence, Discipline of Force is definitely not taking the dragon buff to AD into account.
Discipline of Might:
- 54 bonus AD * 1.12 / 6 = 10.08
- 10.08% + 6% = 16.08%
- Delta: 16.08% - 15% = 1.08%
- 15 * 1.12 = 16.8
Since we are using a very low value of AD, rounding has a huge impact. Hence, let's redo the calculation with a lot more bonus AD.
Akali with dragon buff V, more AD: http://puu.sh/i7TYk/f31196d633.png
Discipline of Might:
- (54 + 80 + 80) * 1.12 = 239.68 bonus AD
- Total AD: 113 * 1.12 + 239.68 = 366.24 (matching the AD value displayed)
- 239.68 / 6 = 39.95
- 39.95% + 6% = 45.95%
- Delta: 45.95% - 41.67% = 4.28%
- 41.67 * 1.12 = 46.67
Indeed, the 12% buff (dragon V) to total AD is completely ignored.

II) [Bug] Akali's model: Neck oddly deformed during animations
It seems like some under the hood changes deformed Akali's model / her animations. Specifically, her neck seems to become twisted on all skins except Headhunter.
This image taken from the LoLKing model viewer illustrates the issue: http://i.imgur.com/DsUKCyR.png
This does happen ingame! http://i.imgur.com/dGsImWI.png
It is most noticeable on the dance emote, but it happens on other emotes as well. If you look at earlier skin spotlights such as the Crimson Akali one, it is difficult to see but the texture bug does not occur. It seems to have been introduced by the texture update or even later changes.
I thank xormx for making me aware of this issue.
In the following, I have highlighted the problem on all affected skins:
- Classic
- Stinger: [1], [2]
- Crimson
- All-star
- Nurse
- Blood Moon
- Silverfang
Headhunter Akali does not share the issue.
Thanks in advance for correcting these errors!
