Master yi Bug with jungle patience?

I've been having this issue with Gromp and krug camps, where if i start the camp with Q, the camps would reset and heal indefinitely, until I stop attack to let them reset. Its happened multiple times now. I'd start with Q, start auto attacking the Gromp or krugs, and they will just keep healing. The patience bar is full, I'm right next to them, and hitting them as well. Is this intentional? or is there an issue with the camps not acknowledging that Master Yi is there?
Edit: I attempted to replicate the issue i mentioned, and found that it happens if you Smite in the middle of alpha strike. Like mentioned, its probably because I'm invulnerable, but this new patience mechanic has resulted in a lot of time wasted in my past games. Ive found that it happens with any camp
