Master yi Bug with jungle patience?

I've been having this issue with Gromp and krug camps, where if i start the camp with Q, the camps would reset and heal indefinitely, until I stop attack to let them reset. Its happened multiple times now. I'd start with Q, start auto attacking the Gromp or krugs, and they will just keep healing. The patience bar is full, I'm right next to them, and hitting them as well. Is this intentional? or is there an issue with the camps not acknowledging that Master Yi is there?

Edit: I attempted to replicate the issue i mentioned, and found that it happens if you Smite in the middle of alpha strike. Like mentioned, its probably because I'm invulnerable, but this new patience mechanic has resulted in a lot of time wasted in my past games. Ive found that it happens with any camp

It's because the damage hits when you're still invulnerable, so it counts it as if you never hit it to begin with. Not sure if it is a bug or not. And an easy solution would be to just basic once then go ham.

Good point, and it makes sense. but sometimes when you're in a rush to just power farm, especially when behind or in a rush, most people don't think to basic attack first lol. I usually Alpha strike over the wall, or Q as soon as im close enough. Because i just want to get ahead. Its a little frustrating when you're farming jungle, move your camera to check on your lanes, and come back to realize the camp has been regenerating all that time MasterYi item 3070
