I don't get why, but opening the client or loading a game makes my dvd drive turn on a make noise. This never happened to me in any other program/game. It started when I put a disk in the drive for the first time, so I don't know when the bug started existing. Why would league have any code linked in any way to my dvd player?
It is intrusively scanning/data-mining your system on behalf of Tencent/China for cheating software. It was revealed that the client also hijacks/spywares your browser activity while the game is running and reads your search history for keywords. Perhaps it thinks your dvd drive contains sensitive government documents free skin hax.

Why do you think the game requests administrator rights to your machine each patch, even though superuser priviledges aren't required to run any part of the actual game?
