Any fix for Riot's bad client?

As we speak I'm locked out of a ranked game. I just wanted to play a game of ranked before work, but that won't be happening I guess. After the game was supposed to begin, my team was still locked in champion select. After waiting a minute of two I just went ahead and relogged. Now whenever I click the button to reconnect to the game, nothing happens. Used to have so many problems with the client on my older laptop, no I'm still having these ridiculous issues on my new laptop. Not sure if it's just this update, but I'm tired of having losses or reports just because of Riot's client.
