Intentional: She recently got a change to her hunt mechanic where she can A) Hunt neutral monsters, and B) A hunted monster gets snared (I think it's a snare).
EDIT: Though I think they initially forgot to mention the snare in the patch notes.

According to the current News of Legends PBE patch cycle notes, this is intended. Nidalee can proc hunt on jungle monsters which leads to them being rooted in place for 2 seconds so that, if she so chooses to Pounce the monster won't be out of range, cancelling the combo.
This is to make her more viable in the jungle, which is where she has found increasing popularity.
The number of people posting about this today is amazingly high. lol
