Client continuously DC's and Reconnects from PvP.net, or "loses connection" randomly

For about a month now, since returning to league, the client has been astoundingly buggy. It keeps telling me I am DC'ing and reconnecting from chat (even though I can still type and others can see me/I can see them), and this prevents me from joining lobbies, or accepting queues. Not only do I have the constant bombardment of supposed DC messages, but during games, I can select a champion/summoner ability/runepage and then the game will tell me that I have lost connection. During this "loss of connection", assuming that I have picked my champion, I still continue in the lobby as usual, even up to summoning, where the game will tell me I have left a match in session and then allow me to rejoin. The entire time that I have been writing this, I had received a disconnect during my selection of bans, ultimately freezing my client and removing me from game. -Attachment is a picture of the "loading" my client has been attempting for roughly ten solid minutes

tl;dr client is lagging and constantly unable to stay connected; I have no trouble with other games, just league.

Edit: As I tried to close my client, after posting this, I cannot get either the X in the upper right or the icon in the system tray to respond, yet the client still updates me on champ picks, players typing etc.
