[Gameplay] Couldn't eat my MF as Tahm the entire game

My friend and I were playing MF Tahm bot. Later on in the game we get ganked by the enemy J4 under tower, MF flashes out of the cataclysm and heals as I also flash after to attempt to eat. I was unable to eat, but I just brushed it off as I just wasn't close enough. Awhile later we were sieging outer mid tower when MF gets Caitlyn ulted. I attempt to eat, but end up devouring the ally Zoe instead. I get confused and just try to eat MF while we were backing up, but was unable to. I normally quick cast everything, so I tried turning it off to no avail. I was able to eat all of my other allies with no problem and we also tried to recreate the situation in a custom where there was no issue there either.

I thought i throw in as much info as possible to see if maybe someone could recreate this issue.
