Lost LP after 1st game of my series

I am a bronze III player who just qualified for my series to promote to Bronze II. I played the first game of my series and lost. Now it says I have 84 LP but I'm still in my series with only one game completed. Why did I lose LP during my series? I submitted a ticket but have heard nothing. This is ridiculous and should not happen. I don't know if anyone else is having this problem but I'm not letting it just go because I'm working hard to make my way up the ladder and I'm not going to be pushed back by a fluke in the system.

Is anyone else having this issue? If yes, did you submit a ticket and how long did it take to get a response and the problem fixed?

That's just how it works. That way if you lose two in a row in your series you'll come out with less LP than if you lose one, win one, and then lose another. You're still in your series and if you win the next 2 games you'll still be promoted.
