That is a very weird bug, never happened to me. But it still doesn't deserve an allcaps treatment. It's a beta client in the first place, it's not complete so it's expected that will be bugs and errors. if you want to play in the old client, go to the login screen and look under the area where you enter your username and password. All the way in the bottom right of the login screen there will be "Launch legacy client", and this will send you to the old one.
