Since the client update, can no longer update the game.

I've talked to a few friends and they have been having the same issue. Ever since the client update there, when attempting to login if there is an update notification in the bottom right of the client, you can't. Clicking the Update button does nothing and attempting to login just results in a timeout. The only way to fix it to uninstall and reinstall the game, the Hextech Repair tool is ineffective. Not sure what's up but just wondering if anyone else is having the issues?
