what happens if leave a ranked game but it wasn't my fault?

So i was playing a ranked match trying to climb up for fun i joined a game and loaded in and everything and then around 12 minutes in i get 500 ms out of no where and that made me decide it'd be better to try and reconnect. which i did but when i exited game i just went back to main screen of the League client and then i tried to re-logging in to see if it would connect me back to the game but i still went to the home screen so what i'm trying to ask is what should i do if i get a penalty and if anyone has had this same issue today

if you leave rank by any means you will get a 5 min penalty regardless, but RIOT DC problem keeps piling up and blames your pc for the DC and so many more players get those issues , as they implement DC program to Korea but NA stays on low bugdet software , keeping quality beyond bronze

feels bad then ,pretty sure my team would win if i was there, the game could possibly going on, but what you're saying is i'm screwed regardless right?
