The infamous camera lock bug

Recurrence rate about 70% Reproduction steps:

Start game as any champ in summoners rift
Use your cursor to move the camera on the minimap
While moving the camera press "Y" and use the "G" key to ping a particular area on the minimap
Use "Y" to attempt to relock your camera only to have it not do so.

Quickfix: move the camera using your cursor on the minimap and tap "Y" to relock your screen.

Conclusion: I've run into this bug several times on both live and PBE and it has become a very annoying part of playing League in tense situations. I'm beginning to think it has something to do with pinging on the minimap after using "Y" to take off screen lock.

I've had it backwards. Locking the screen unexpectedly. It's 10x worse when it's in a teamfight.

There's locking issues when you're alt-tabbing in windowed mode too, sometimes. I can't replicate it but often dying, hilariously, fixes it.

I DESPISE the camera lock bug where if you space back to your champ while dead it locks until your revive. Nothing will move the camera off your corpse. It's so obnoxious.

I have this problem occasioanlly if skype overlays on the game then i lock the screen with space. its fixed simply by alt+tab.

i've had a different camera lock bug, and it was WAY WORSE! from start of the game to the end, my camera was unable to move by the mouse! not even changing the camera mode worked! the only way i could move the camera was by the minimap, which made it incredibly hard to chase OR retreat! i've encountered the bug 3 times, twice IN A ROW right after the illaoi release, and once very recently, as in my PREVIOUS GAME! (by the way i won that game) AND I THOUGHT THE BIG CAMERA FREEZE OF NOVEMBER 2015 WAS OVER! summoner 32 Azir

I hate this bug, but I often simply fix it by dragging the mouse over the minimap for an extended amount of time, it usually fixes it
