Missing Snowdown Chests? [CLIENT]

I waited for two sets of beautiful Snowdown chests today and as it was counting down to ZERO I jumped over to my Hextech LOOT tab and was sad to see that I was denied my chest. So I waited the five some odd hours as the timer for the next chest to pop and this time I was with a group of friends all online waiting for the same timer to count down. MOST of us were denied and only ONE of my friends received a shiny new chest! Are we missing out on lovely loot???

I waited for two different chests. I have had five friends log in and watch their count downs as well.
