Gifting Glitch

I got home from school and unexpectedly received a gift from a friend. I accepted it and I tried to look in my inventory but it wasn't there. I've searched everywhere, I looked in the gifting history and it says I've received it. Either I'm dumb, it's a bug on their part, or I haven't restarted my client enough times. Help?
