Sona abilities causing a sudden FPS drop/High ping.

I've been playing a lot of ARAMs lately with some lower level friends, so I tend to see Sona a lot there. I've noticed that the first time Sona visibly uses her Q, my game hiccups and freezes for about a half second. I also saw this happen one time on summoners rift. It's quite brief and only happens the first time my screen shows her using this ability, does anyone else have this issue?
