No longer can run League client

So after a recent update to my windows I went to try league. The league of legends logo pops up on my screen then the game doesn't load to the launcher. I'm thinking I may need to redownload the game but I want to see if anyone has any idea whats going on or a tip to try to fix it without redownloading. Thanks
