Lost Series Due to Inactivity, Even though it was on the Same Day?

So, I just logged onto league of legends from last night (at around 2am?) of playing ranked in my series in flexed, and i was 1-2 in it. Then i log back in today around 6pm, and it said i was removed and brought down to 90lp? It was only a couple of hours without playing ranked.
