Mac OS X - Game won't launch after patch 4.20, simply sits at a black screen

Hello,

Ever since patch 4.20, I have been completely unable to play a game. The out of game client works fine, and Team Builder/Champion Select also works fine, but when it's time for the loading screen to come up, my screen simply goes black and the only way out is CMD+OPT+ESC (the Mac equivalent of CTRL+ALT+DEL). If I try to reconnect, the same thing happens - instead of the loading screen, I sit at a black screen.

Restarting the out of game client, and rebooting the computer does nothing. I repaired my game client but it did not fix the problem either.

It has done this for several days. (And of course the new LeaverBuster launched at the same time as this patch which has broken my game :( )

My computer info: 27 inch iMac (mid 2011) Mac OS X 10.8.5 3.1 GhZ Intel Core i5 8 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3 AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048 MB

Hey man, i got exact the same problem, and it has been couple days since the new patch 4.20 released. im using Imac and the game didnt lauch at all with any model (summoners rift, ARAM, Custom) and cant even support the spectate model. i dont know fi Riot really realize the big issue here cuz many of my friends can not paly games right now.

I'm getting the same issue on my Imac, the game keeps crashing on the loading screen, and cmd+opt+esc didn't work for me. I had to hard shutdown my computer, because I couldn't return to the desktop at all. Of course, I assumed it was my internet at fault, so I checked my router, no problems there. I then spent the next 20 minutes trying and failing to connect to the game, only to receive a leaverbuster warning once the game was over. No way in hell am I going into matchmaking again until this is fixed.

I am having a similar problem, it started off as I would bug splat during champion loading screen maybe 2 out of 5 games. At the time I just blew it off as a bug in the 4.20 patch. But starting yesterday I would constantly start lagging and be stuck with the trying to reconnect bar. This would happen about 3-5 minutes into the game and then it would magically work. Then a few minutes later it would work fine and then get stuck again. Finally ending with the game and my Mac freezing and requiring me to do a forced shut down and having to re log in and reconnect. I would have to this over and over again just to finish the game. After my last match made game I got leaver buster. I just tried playing a custom game and had the same problem. My Mac specs are Processor: 2.5 GHz I5, 8Gb 1600 MHz DDR3 of Memory, Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB,Software OS X 10.9.5 (13F34).

SAME EXACT PROBLEM. Out of game client- perfect. Champion select- perfect. Loading screen after champion select- pitch black screen. Can't exit out unless i use the emergency exit (command+ option+ esc). After doing the emergency exit, it takes me to the client where it says "reconnect." I hit reconnect, and it's the same thing all over again. Just a pitch black loading screen. I tried restarting the client and logging back into league, and this does nothing to help. Tried restarting my computer, no help. I as well got a leaver-buster penalty for this. Uninstalled the league software and date, reinstalled everything... still NOTHING. Pitch black screens for days.

Riot, please help. Us Mac users are getting a crappy end of the stick, losing LP, and getting penalized for seemingly unavoidable problems. Please help.

I've been having this issue for a long, long time. Pitch black screen and an annoyingly clunky mouse cursor. What I do is restarting my router and relogging - works ±80% of the times. The thing is, sometimes I'm duoing with my brother - he plays on Windows - and we always get the issue at the same time so this is probably an ISP related problem in my case.

This is what is happening to me also! On top of the new afk rules, I am now low priority and constantly getting punished for something that is on riot's end. I'm about to throw in the towel and call it quits. This issue is so frustrating.

I am having the same issue and rarely it is getting quite annoying, I would just like to play a simple game of league but as soon as champion select is down and it goes to champion loading screen pitch black! Only way out is the "command" "option" "esc" emergency exit. If this is strictly a mac issue, RIOT I suggest you get yourself together cause I personally and I'm sure others will agree adore playing league and this absolutely pisses me off! And if RIOT hasn't already noticed there are THOUSANDS maybe more complaints of people who aren't able to play the game…

This is a game I play quite often and I have spent a lot of money on if it isn't going to work well then I am severely annoyed with the company!!!

If you end up not fixing the project well your loosing MILLIONS of dollars.
