Clubs feature annoying notification sound for no reason

I am a member of a Club with 50 people (the limit) and many off us frequently hear the notification ping you get when a message is sent without anything transpiring in chat. Can a Rioter please tell me what causes this? Numerous times myself and others will hear them and tab into client to see no new messages. Its getting so frequent that it is kind of annoying.
