Sometimes my Q ability does not work

I dont think it's my keyboard because i just got a new one about 3 months ago. and it works always when I type. but for some reason randomly in game my q key WILL NOT work when the ability is off cooldown, i have enough mana, and its not a targeted ability. I will spammed it 4-5 times and it just wont go off. It doesnt happen all the time but it happens often enough to affect my games. Just had a game on olaf and it completely swung the game out of control. Someone have some insight? thanks

if you have the chat bar up, even if your not typing in it, no ability will work when you use it. just make sure that little black bar on the side of your screen isn't up.
