Thresh and Relic shield

Okay guys so i keep playing support and i want to go tank support right? will not proc unless i last hit a minion a lot of the time. I'm getting NO executions with my autoattacks otherwise I have to kill the minion like im laning and quite frankly it messes up my adcs farm when i try to do this. So just so you know Riot im only seeing proc off melee champs and not . Also this applies to all build stages of the item. Just thought I'd let you know Riot. #objectorientedprogrammingsabitch

Thresh is ranged. Only melee champions get the execute effect on relic shield. If you want to use the shield, you got to last hit properly.

This is why most thresh's are starting with E first to help proc it for last hitting

It is designed to only work for melee, as it would be far to easy for a long range champion to farm for two people. A melee champ needs to get close, so they can be zoned out.

UNIQUE - SPOILS OF WAR: Melee autoattacks execute minions below 200 (+100% AD) health. Killing a minion by any means heals you and the nearest (within 1100 range) allied champion for 40 health and grants them gold equal to the kill. These effects require a nearby allied champion and consume a charge. Recharges every 60 seconds. Max 2 charges. You may only be in possession of 1 Gold Income item.

Relic shield line only procs on melee autos because back when it was first released, bot lane used to take 2 relic shields and perfect CS the entire time and share almost every CS between the two of them. Riot had to nerf it so that it wasn't the go to support item.

Just get the CS when your carry is actually low and can't risk himself to get it. If you have to, get armor/hybrid penetration runes or some attack damage in your rune pages or mastery pages. Alternatively you could go with the yellow or blue gold income item instead of the teal one.
